Where to Find Clothes For a Sex Doll in New Zealand

One of the unspoken charms of a love doll is dressing them up just how you like them to look.

Whether you have a tall, supermodel style doll with perfect mannequin like proportions, a doll with a curvy, beach ready swimsuit body, or a voluptuous figure more suited for lingerie, finding clothes can become a hobby all its own – one that for many becomes a deep rabbit hole that can lead to an aching credit card.

While many see our dolls as made only for one thing, and have no need of clothes, at their core, they are dolls – and that means in most cases, they are also made to be dressed up. Their 1:1 life scale means it’s also much easier to find clothes for them. Many of the dolls we sell are moderately proportioned and can fit most clothes designed to fit women.

Where to start? Most guys do have an idea of what they like to see women wearing in everyday life, and it’s often a good idea to come up with a style, or look, as a starting point, just so you can keep your options narrower (and easier on the wallet).

Before we give you the Top Five places I recommend for clothing (as well as a few honourable mentions for lingerie and other things), we’d like to make a public service announcement:

DO NOT BUY FROM SHEIN, WISH, ALI EXPRESSk TEMU or SIMILAR SITES!

Almost every doll related forum and community recommends these sites as good sources for doll clothes.

The clothes from these sites, in most cases, are cheap, nasty, toxic garbage made from the worst synthetic fabrics that, if coloured (not just dark), may stain your doll beyond recognition (especially if she’s made from TPE).

Other things to avoid are clothes made from 100% synthetics, like polyester, from costume/cosplay stores (for the same reasons outlined above about Shein etc), tacky lingerie from sex shops (buy from a lingerie shop that actual women would shop at instead) and other cheap outlets. The clothes won’t fit very well, and you will most probably be disappointed with the results.

If you can, stick clothes made with cotton, wool, linen or other natural fibres, as the dyeing processes for clothes made from natural fabrics are often superior, and the colour holds a lot better.

One of the most important things about finding clothes to fit your doll is that her underbust/bust ratio is sound. We’ve attempted to mainly offer dolls that are more humanlike in these areas, but some, like the WM Dolls 166C, have extremely narrow underbusts.

The rule is, the smaller the bust, and the lower the underbust/bust ratio the easier a doll is to dress.

Most of our dolls will range in clothing size from XXS to S in tops. XS is the average size.

Five Places to Find Clothes For Sex Dolls:

Disclaimer: Most of the places suggested below will fit the more realistically proportioned dolls. Every one of the dolls from WM Dolls that we offer will be able to be accommodated, even the 162E. Most of the Zelex dolls will fit clothes from the list, with the exceptions being SLE Collection dolls that have G, J and K cups, for obvious reasons.

All of the links below will take you to an external Website, one that we have no control over. While we endorse many of the products on these sites, remember that you are subject to their terms and conditions of use. We do not receive any affiliate payment for these links, they’re purely recommendations based on experience, and our knowledge of contemporary styles.

Cotton On – Online/Physical Stores

Cotton On has a very good range of every type of clothing you can think of, from skirts to denim to outerwear. The clothes have a reasonably young look, which suits dolls with a twenty something appearance.

They have a great range of sneakers, which is an essential basic when storing or displaying your doll standing up. Their sneakers aren’t overly expensive when purchased on sale, and you can often find a pair for $20. Paired with a pair of their socks (some of the best socks for dolls that we’ve found come from Cotton On), they’re an excellent way to protect your doll’s feet. Most dolls take a Size 36 in their sizing. There’s a bit of room in the toe at this size, but the wiggle room makes it easier to slip the shoes on without damaging your doll’s heels.

One of the best things about Cotton On for dolls is that they offer sizing as small as XXS or 2XS.

We’re also big fans of their Penny Loafers, which we’ve seen on sale for as low as $15.

Farmers – Online/Physical Stores

Yes, you read correctly. While you might think their ready to wear outfits aren’t so stylish, they’re a great source for basics like lingerie, socks, and most of all, their base layers.

While we did say you can avoid staining by avoiding synthetic fabrics, there are some circumstances where it’s not possible – like if you want one of the cool faux leather motorcycle jackets from Cotton On. In these cases, ditch the body stocking and layer up. A pointelle long sleeved top is very feminine, and keeps your doll’s arms protected from not only stains, but dust and sometimes superficial scrapes.

Glassons* – Online/Physical Stores (Silicone Dolls Only!)

Glassons has long been a go to for young women looking to get current looks at low prices.

They have a range of very contemporary items, and are especially good for finding things like skirts or dresses at decent prices – especially during sale time. Like Cotton On, if you sign up to their E-Mail list, they will keep you up to date with their sales, which happen frequently.

Their bikinis and swimwear are also excellent.

One thing to note is that Glassons is fine for a silicone doll, but you shouldn’t buy clothes for a TPE doll from here. We suspect that there may be silicone in some of the threads used in some of their clothes, which is not compatible with TPE.

Brandy Melville – Online Only

Brandy Melville is a contentious clothing brand for girls and young women that used to be for girls up to twenty, but that is now popular with women up to their thirties.

They’re contentious because they have a policy of only offering most of their clothes in one size only, but what’s bad news for the protuberously challenged is good new for dolls, because that one size is mostly cut for tall, lean frames.

It’s a super cool brand with clothes that are mostly well made, well designed and while very current, are also quite timeless. All designs are approved by a panel of girls who work for head office, ensuring that each piece is on trend.

The prices are also budget friendly. The Website linked is their Australian site, which also offers fast, free postage to New Zealand for orders over AU $150.

Sizes are generally XS/S, with a few “oversized” items that are designed to still hang on leaner frames, with a purposely baggy look.

If you’re buying long skirts, long dresses or pants, they’re most suited to dolls that are 170 cm or taller, but their tops are well suited to most doll bodies.

Note: Avoid their navy clothes unless they’re 100% cotton – their blues are reputed to not be colourfast.

Bendon – Online/Physical Stores

They may not sell a broad range of clothing, but Bendon is possibly one of the best places in New Zealand to buy lingerie for your doll.

Some of the love dolls with more exteme sized busts might be left empty handed, but for dolls with A to D (sometimes E) cups, they have a large offering – and a very handy bra size calculation tool.

Remember – If you’re buying underwear, it’s best to default to the waist size, as opposed to the hip size of dolls, as it will most often stretch to accomodate hips, but a saggy waistband is something we want to avoid. Just remember for all lingerie, because it’s very fitted, make sure there is no pressure on the doll at the edges/seams, to avoid any marks.

Honourable Mention: Forever 21 – Online Only

While we’re trying to keep things below the equator, the one US site we  wanted to mention is Forever 21, as they’re moderately priced, and you don’t have to resort to using Youshop to buy stuff from them.

They’re not as generous with their sales as they used to be, for customers outside the US, but they do offer super fast postage to New Zealand at far lower rates than buying online and using Youshop.

Forever 21 offers many of the same things as you might find at Glassons and Brandy Melville, so do shop carefully and look for local alternatives first.

We mention them for their street savvy styles in doll friendly sizes. Lots of XS clothing, with a lot of super cool leggings, miniskirts, faux leather jackets (that so far have not stained our girls, despite being jet black and synthetic – but always test your own) and similar.

They’re probably not worth the non sale prices, and they tend to exclude non US buyers from their sales and discount codes, but for actual discounted items, they’re pretty good.
