Sex Doll Buyer’s Guide: Customising Your TPE Sex Doll

This option is only relevant for WM Dolls: TPE is a realistic feeling, soft and pliant material, ideal for making love dolls from because of its flexibility and tactile qualities.

The process has, in the past, meant that dolls made from TPE require a lot of care, and are easily prone to damage, wear and splitting from use and extension of body parts.

WM Dolls has developed a new blend of TPE, known as S-TPE, which is an improvement over the Regular TPE. 

S-TPE has less of an oily feel, sheds less oil, can be left stretched for longer periods of time with damage or splitting, and is more durable and flexible.

The material also allows for more permanent body makeup, with long lasting colour. 

Customers who want to change the lip colour and other makeup, as well as change the colour of their doll’s areolae, labia and other body parts, should stick with Regular TPE. Those who prefer more permanent makeup would be best to order S-TPE.

TPE dolls are cast with a single overall skintone, which forms the doll’s complexion from head to toe, with the exception being body painting and makeup.

TPE dolls’ eyes may be changed easily, with the correct amount of care, so the Eye Colour choice is not a permanently fixed attribute. 

There are several eye colours to choose from, with most colours always in stock, should users wish to change their doll’s eye colour at any time.

There are several wigs to choose from when ordering your doll, with myriad opportunities to change up her hair style and colour by ordering additional wigs further down the track, or choosing from the vast array of third party wigs available. 

We also keep a full stock of wigs from WM Dolls, which are compatible with any TPE sex doll, should you wish to purchase additional wigs at any time.

There are three types of mouth to choose from:

• Fixed Tongue: The TPE tongue is permanently attached to the inside of the mouth. Note that the tongue is not placed in an anatomically realistic way, but is placed and angled more for sensation when using a doll orally.
• Removable Tongue: This option includes a non attached tongue that will be included with your order. This is more for aesthetic/posing purposes, and is more realistic looking, with little to no practical function.
• No Tongue: This option is for those who wish to not have any tongue at all. A doll head with this option may still be used orally, without the added sensations provided by the Fixed Tongue option. When the mouth is closed, there is no aesthetic difference, and the No Tongue option is the common default one chosen.

NOTE: While a TPE doll’s mouth is technically capable of passive oral sex, the lack of movement means that the experience does not have much in common with real oral sex, which requires active participation from the woman. Sex dolls are really designed for vaginal sex, which can be more natural as an overall experience, as a woman can participate passively.

Difficulty cleaning the mouth and throat of a doll after oral use also means that such activity is not recommended.

Gel breasts are the most realistic feeling option for any dolls’ breast type, with the maximum amount of softness and movement.

We do not charge extra for gel breasts on our TPE sex dolls, but still offer hollow breasts for those who want more sturdy breasts on their doll.

While we mainly promote dolls with more realistic bodies, we still offer some very busty dolls, such as the 162 E Cup body. As the breasts on these dolls are very large, hollow breasts can be a benefit for dolls that will be standing for long periods of time, as the weight of gel breasts can cause the TPE material to stretch (although dolls made from S-TPE will not be affected). 

TPE sex dolls can have either standing feet or non standing feet.

Dolls with standing feet have three studs screwed into a rectangular metal foot plate.

When standing the doll, all three bolts should be making contact with the floor, so that the doll’s weight is evenly distributed across each of the bolts. 

Love dolls cannot stand unassisted, but should have a third point of contact, whether they are braced against a piece of furniture, wall or other solid, sturdy object or area. Shoes and socks are advisable to protect the delicate TPE of the doll’s feet when they are standing.

Non Standing Feet are only recommended for those who specifically require the feet to have no foot bolts for aesthetic reasons, and who also will never have their doll standing for any length of time. 

For all other cases, we advise Standing Feet, as causing a non standing doll to put pressure on her feet, even for a few seconds, can severely damage them.

Most high quality doll brands produce their TPE dolls with articulated fingers, with hand skeletons with individual, moving finger joints, just like those of a human hand.

Articulated fingers is one of the basic things you should look for when choosing a sex doll. If they don’t have this feature, then the brand is low quality.

When properly placed, a removable vagina looks a lot like a fixed one – with a slightly more realistic appearance, as the front wall resembles the vestibule/opening, as opposed to a fixed, with just has a wide hole visible.

Removable vaginas are also available in varying degrees of softness and tightness, so if you are replacing one, it pays to contact us and ask if you have any specific requirements.

Various TPE sex doll brands have differing skeletons, with WM Dolls’ Double Jointed Skeleton being their default.

Most brands offer at least skeletons with shrugging shoulders.

WM Dolls still offers two main fingernail colours: Pink and French Manicure. 

For users willing to undertake the operation, the fingernails can be removed and replaced with any third party fingernails at a later date. 

Care must be taken to not tear the fingertips, but you may use fingernail glue to attach new fingernails (with adequate ventilation), that can be purchased from any beauty counter.

You can choose from a wide variety of fingernail colours that vary amongst the brands.

Like the fingernails, toenails may be changed for third party nails at any time, and attached using nail glue from any beauty counter.

There are various standard sizes of areolae available when ordering.

This customisation is based on colour, and the amount of colour placed on the area including and surrounding the nipple. It should be noted that some dolls have a moulded area that forms the texture of both the nipple and surrounding areolae, and sometimes the colour applied for the large areolae size can extend outside the moulded area.

When a doll is made from Standard TPE, this colour is not permanent, and may be removed with a quantity of mineral oil, and replaced with a colour of your choice – generally by using a powder based makeup.

This colour forms the basis of the nipple/areolae area, and as above, may be removed with mineral oil should you choose to recolour it, using your own powder based makeup.

There are various basic colours available to choose from for your TPE sex doll’s labia. Please note that this colour is powder based makeup, and is not permanent, for dolls made from Standard TPE.

The labia colour on Standard TPE dolls will mostly come off from vaginal use, and even without, can be removed with mineral oil, and replaced by applying powder based makeup of your choosing.

Realistic body painting is an option available for Standard TPE dolls from some brands, and is only semi permanent. It will come off with use and wear.

For those wishing to have more permanent body makeup, we recommend going with S-TPE from WM Dolls for your love doll, which will have more durable surface detail.
